Carrez law surface: what is it ?

Need to calculate a Carrez law surface? Want to learn a little more about how it is established?

Here is a diagram to simply understand what it takes into account. The private surface area, called Carrez surface area, is the surface area of the floors of enclosed and covered premises after deduction of the surfaces occupied by walls, partitions, steps and stairwells, shafts, door and window embrasures. The floors of parts of premises with a height of less than 1.80 m3 are not taken into account via Co-ownership Audit & Diagnostics
