Home Tour: A family haunt with clean lines

On the edge of the 9th and 10th arrondissements, Rue La Fayette, Ronan Le Page, interior designer, opens the doors of his 105 m² apartment purchased with Junot. Completely renovated, he wanted to highlight the open view and brightness in a calming and refined atmosphere.

What attracted you to this apartment?

Two years ago, during our first visit, what immediately convinced us was the brightness and the clear view of the Saint-Vincent de Paul church. We were impressed by the potential of this apartment offering a feeling of space with its modular plan.

How did you reorganized this space?

This apartment served as a pied-à-terre for its previous owner. With nearly 70 m² dedicated to reception spaces and a single bedroom with its adjoining bathroom, I immediately saw its potential to transform it into a family apartment without loss of volume. To realize this vision, I completely redesigned the configuration of the rooms. We undertook a complete redistribution of this apartment, keeping only the ten windows as a starting point.

After a year of work, the bathroom was transformed into a bedroom, the kitchen into a bathroom, and a living room was converted into a kitchen. Rethinking surfaces as a whole gave us the opportunity to create tailor-made solutions, particularly for storage spaces. We used box bases from shops and made a cladding on top.

How did you come up with the decoration ?

During the work, our priority was to opt for natural materials. We therefore chose oak parquet, lime paint for the walls with this cloudy and hazy look, raffia for the dressing room and marble for the bathrooms. I also bring particular importance to symmetry with curves and straight lines which are not necessarily seen with the naked eye, but which contribute to the harmony of this whole. As for the furniture, it's a harmonious mix between antique pieces and others from iconic designers.

In which room of your apartment do you feel the best?

The room I like the most is the kitchen. Its triangular shape and its double exposure to the square and rue La Fayette offer exceptional light and a pleasant view. The central island constitutes a versatile space where we love to dine, cook and spend beautiful evenings with friends.

Why did you choose the neighborhood Saint Vincent de Paul?

The neighborhood is very family-friendly and quite young. There are very good restaurants every 100m, such as Chez Casimir behind the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul church, Bonhomme rue du Faubourg Poissonnière or even Tempête cour des Petites Écuries.
