Junot takes you to discover the Breteuil district, at the intersection of the 7th and 15th arrondissements. A stone's throw from the emblematic monuments of the Left Bank, it seduces with its prestigious location and its peaceful atmosphere.

A bit of history...

The district owes its name to its famous avenue de Breteuil which connects the École Militaire district to the Necker district. It is known for its impressive perspective, which extends from the Hôtel des Invalides to Sèvres-Lecourbe via Place de Breteuil. It starts from Place Vauban, opposite the Chapelle des Invalides, tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. Built in the 18th century, in honor of the Marquis Louis Auguste Le Tonnelier de Breteuil, over the years it has welcomed many renowned personalities, including diplomats, writers and figures from the art world.

Paris's architectural heritage

Living in Breteuil means having the chance to rub shoulders with Parisian history with its many Haussmannian buildings. Their freestone facades, wrought iron balconies and mansard roofs are typical of the architecture of the time. Due to its location, its perspective and its magnificent buildings, it is one of the most exclusive districts of Paris. There are treasures of tree-lined condominiums in the middle of hidden courtyards, luxury buildings, private hotels and family apartments. These large avenues, like that of Breteuil, elegant, calm and shaded, offer residents beautiful lawns, play areas for children, as well as a monument dedicated to Pasteur.

Breteuil, a haven of tranquility

A true haven of peace in the heart of the Left Bank, the Breteuil district offers a living environment with discreet and timeless charm. Ranked among the most beautiful in Paris, the Saxe market is a must-see for residents. Here, traders succeed one another from generation to generation, giving Breteuil the gentle conviviality of village life, a few streets from the hustle and bustle of Paris. We also appreciate the 7th for its more contemplative character, where it is good to stroll along the art galleries, design and decoration stores. On the 15th side, rue du Commerce seduces with its lively atmosphere, mixing food shops and fashionable brands.

Living in the Breteuil district, at the rhythm of families

This neighborhood attracts French and foreign families. The educational offer is excellent and there are numerous green spaces. From the sports lawns of the Esplanade des Invalides to the kid-friendly open spaces of Avenue de Breteuil, via Square Saint Lambert and its flowered paths, residents are spoiled for choice when it comes to going green. Served by 5 metro lines, the district is also perfectly connected to the rest of the capital and ensures an excellent level of mobility for its residents.

The must-see places around Breteuil

The UNESCO House: it is, as its name suggests, the headquarters of UNESCO, the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organization. The main modern building is the result of a collaboration between three eminent architects: the French Bernard Zehrfuss, the American Marcel Breuer, and the Italian Pier Luigi Nervi.

The Bourdelle Museum: it is the former workshop of the sculptor of the same name, Antoine Bourdelle. The space preserves and exhibits more than five hundred plasters, marbles and bronzes by the artist. The place is also known for its gardens.
