At the gates of Paris is Neuilly-sur-Seine, popular with families for its schools, its cultural places, its parks and gardens and its village and family atmosphere. Living in Neuilly-sur-Seine offers so many advantages that it is one of the most sought-after neighboring towns.

A bit of history…

The history of Neuilly-sur-Seine is marked by the construction of various bridges. The first wooden “Pont de Neuilly” was erected in 1606, after the fall of the carriage of Henri IV and Marie de Medici. Having become obsolete, it was replaced by a steel bridge at the end of the 20th century. Today it connects the two banks of the Seine, as far as Courbevoie and Puteaux. The city's landscape has largely evolved since the Second Empire when sumptuous mansions and imposing Haussmann-style buildings were built.

A peaceful green setting

Living in Neuilly-sur-Seine means benefiting from an inimitable calm environment. The town is home to beautiful stone buildings and Art Deco style buildings. The pretty tree-lined streets offer a serene environment where life is good.

Ideally located, the city is only 15 minutes from the center of Paris by metro, using line 1. This dream location allows its residents to enjoy a tranquil setting and the attractions of Paris. Another advantage is the proximity to the La Défense business district.

A village spirit that pleases

Neuilly-sur-Seine looks like a small village where you always come across a neighbor you know. The town is renowned for its numerous shops, restaurants and brasseries. It also has very good bakeries and butchers. The market square is the meeting point on weekends and the ideal place to have a coffee on the terrace. For children, the city is located next to the best public and private schools as well as renowned universities.

It's no surprise that Neuilly-sur-Seine is a very popular town for families. The city offers spacious properties; luxury houses or apartments which, for the most part, have a balcony or even a garden. Some exceptional properties have also been the subject of renovations by architects. It is not uncommon to find atypical properties there.

Living in Neuilly-sur-Seine, true garden city

One of the great assets of Neuilly-sur-Seine is its proximity to parks and many green areas. A surprising figure: more than 10% of the surface area of Neuilly-sur-Seine is made up of green spaces, or nearly 40 hectares. Do you need a breath of fresh air? Stroll along the boulevards and avenues, planted with 13,000 trees.

This calculation does not take into account the Bois de Boulogne which delights the residents of Neuilly. This emblematic park welcomes joggers, cyclists and the little ones who have fun in the playgrounds. With an area of 850 hectares, it is one of the lungs of the capital.

And for a fun time with the family, go to the Jardin d’Acclimatation, the amusement park in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. It offers 40 attractions for children, an educational farm and restaurants.

L'île de la Jatte: famous thanks to the numerous impressionist painters of the 19th century (Van Gogh, Monte, Sisley, etc.), the island was at the time renowned for its taverns and parties. Having become residential, it today offers a calm and wooded environment.

The Château de Neuilly: this magnificent castle has an imposing facade made from glass doors and faces an immense garden which extends from L'Île de la Jatte to the gates of Paris. Former residence of King Louis-Philippe of Orléans, it is a place steeped in history.

The Louis Vuitton Foundation: this building designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry is an attraction in itself. Imposing and sculptural, it marks the landscape with its beauty. A place dedicated to contemporary creation, it hosts exhibitions by the greatest artists, such as Jean-Michel Basquiat.

The Saint-Pierre church in Neuilly-sur-Seine: this church has been listed in the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage since 1931. It is dedicated to the apostle Saint-Pierre, first pope.
